Railfinder: Slow Travel, Made Intuitive
Railfinder: Slow Travel, Made Intuitive Railfinder was created to address a recurring barrier in train travel across Europe: planning complexity. While rail is one of the most sustainable ways to move across the continent, organising a cross-border journey often requires navigating multiple websites, unclear connections, fragmented ticketing systems, and uncertain transfer times. Railfinder brings these elements together in a single, human-centred platform. With one search, travellers can explore complete rail itineraries across Europe, including night trains, meaningful stopovers, and realistic transfer margins. Routes are presented using official operator data, with comfort classes, services, and ticket conditions shown as they are defined by each railway company. Beyond booking, Railfinder also provides travel guides for key European destinations and thematic journeys, such as Alpine routes and seasonal escapes. These guides support a shift from destination-focused travel to journey-based travel, helping travellers experience distance, landscapes, and time differently. Currently in active beta, Railfinder focuses on the DACH region and neighbouring countries, with ticketing available across Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Benelux, and major night-train networks. The team is transparent about current limitations and is continuously expanding operator coverage and features to make cross-border train travel easier and more reliable for a broad audience.
